Huntercombe House Stockton provides both long stay and respite care to children and young people with Learning Disabilities including Autism and Asperger's syndrome who may display behaviour that challenges.

About Huntercombe House Stockton

The centre provides an invaluable service to parents and young people who, as a result of their conditions, display severe challenging behaviour which has challenged other services and environments. We work closely with the child or young person’s health and social care professionals to achieve the highest standard of support and care that they require to achieve their optimum potential. All young people have access to advocacy from the National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS). Our centre has also facilitated educational support for individuals, working closely and maintaining links with the local Special Needs Education Authority.

Huntercombe House is well situated in close proximity to the A19, offering easy access to country and coast. The establishment is registered to provide 15 beds, situated across 4 discrete units, which accommodate small groups of children including single occupancy units ideal for transitional care or more highly dependent children. All young people have their own rooms with en suite facilities. A sensory room, soft play room, activity rooms and enclosed garden are all on site, where children can enjoy a range of activities. The Centre has an activity co-ordinator who ensures all young people are able to enjoy a range of activities, both in the Centre, and the wider community. All special and seasonal events are celebrated and all young people are encouraged to celebrate birthdays and / or religious / cultural events as requested.
