About The Huntercombe Hospital - Norwich

The Huntercombe Hospital Norwich is a low secure hospital in Buxton on the outskirts of Norwich, Norfolk. Set in a rural environment, but with easy access Norwich town centre, the Hospital provides a calm, therapeutic atmosphere with a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team.

Specific specialist low secure services are provided for both children and adolescents (CAMHS) and adults with mental health disorders within separate, segregated areas of the site. All services are provided within safe, therapeutic, purpose built environments and strictly comply with national standards for low secure services.

In addition, the Hospital also offers a Transitional service which bridges the gap between CAMHS and Adult Mental Health services enabling a smoother, more positive transition, particularly for those with complex needs where chronological age does not always indicate a readiness for transfer.

Using an evidence-based assessment and care model and risk reduction strategies, patients progress towards defined goals and milestones in order to move to less restrictive environments.

Patients are detained under the Mental Health Act.
