Our teams are multi-disciplinary and serve a specific clinical ward. Each team comprises of a Consultant Psychiatrist, a Staff Grade Psychiatrist, a Clinical Psychologist, a Social Worker, an Occupational Therapist, and a good establishment of trained Mental Health Nurses and Healthcare Support Workers. Patients also benefit from the input of our WTE Sports Therapists, an Art Therapist and a Music/Dance Therapist. Each discipline contributes regularly to patient treatment programmes and multi-disciplinary reviews.We offer a range of high quality therapies and activities, both in-house and in the community, to support patients in their progress through treatment and rehabilitation. Our mutli disciplinary team and Consultant lead approach means that the profile and reputation of the hospital and its positive outcome for patients makes it one of the providers of choice in this area of London.
The Huntercombe Hospital Roehampton is a purpose built Award winning facility of 38 beds based near Roehampton, London. There is a designated therapy department comprising of 4 modern and well-equipped therapy rooms including ; a gym, kitchen, group room and art room which are used regularly as part of the patient treatment plan. We also have an outside enclosed sporting area and encourage patients to maintain some physical activity to optimise their recovery.
Each ward has a programme of activities and the general aim is to provide at least one group a day that everyone can join in with as well as a range of individual sessions. Patients are encouraged to arrange their other activities, such as Section 17 leave, around the therapy timetable and begin the rehabilitation process for patients nearing the end of their stay. Sessions aim to enhance a range of social, physical and cognitive skills and to encourage patients to develop a balanced a purposeful daily routine.
As well as the activities ticked above the therapy department also provides the following activities: Arts and crafts, music group, computing, Tai Chi, massage therapy, football and other team sports groups, trips out to the local area, leisure groups, walking groups, look good feel good, dance and movement, Nintendo Wii groups, swimming groups.
