Within our secure mental health hospitals we provide treatment for adults experiencing psychiatric, psychological and emotional problems within a structured and therapeutic environment including for people with learning disability and personality disorders. We provide evidence-based, specialist treatment programmes for severely ill men and women who require medium or low secure environments, high dependency or intensive care and who may be at risk of suicidal behaviour, serious self-harm, violence or running away.
Within our Community Hospitals we also accept patients detained under the Mental Health Act. We cater for the specific needs of adults with Learning Disability, Autism, Borderline Personality Disorder, Aspergers Syndrome, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and challenging behaviours, providing short term and continuing educational, healthcare and therapeutic interventions.
Our Step down residential care homes and supported living services provide additional care pathway choices for adults with special needs such as learning diasbility and enduring mental illness.
Our specialist centres provide tailored rehabilitation programmes for people with acquired brain injury and neurodisabilities, focused on reducing disability and enhancing the prospects for a more fulfilling life. We are able to accept patients detained under the Mental Health Act at our centres in Blackheath, London and Frenchay, Bristol.
Within our four hospitals we provide treatment for adolescents and young adults with eating disorders including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Binge Eating Disorder, there is also on-going development work which may see our services diversify. We take a holistic and evidence-based approach to the treatment of eating disorders, paying particular attention to biological, psychological and social factors. By equipping patients with skills and coping mechanisms we ensure recovery can continue back within the home environment. Our patients are admitted on a voluntary basis, or if necessary, under the Mental Health Act.
Our two dedicated centres provide highly effective evidence-based interventions in the treatment of drug and alcohol misuse. Our centres are able to cater for adults with complex needs including poly-drug use, pregnant drug users, alcohol-related brain disease and mental health co-morbidity.
Our dedicated hospitals cater for the needs of adolescents suffering with a mental illness, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Borderline Personality Disorder and Emerging Personality Disorder. We offer tailored treatments for each group together with continuation of schooling for adolescent patients. We accept patients detained under the Mental Health Act.
Our two centres for children and adolescents with special health and social care requirements accepts and cares for children with complex health needs and physical or learning disabilities.
