Oswald House in Lancashire is a specialist residential service providing rehabilitation, care and support to vulnerable women with complex mental health issues.
We support women who may have a history of substance abuse or who have suffered sexual and/or physical abuse.
Some of our female residents stay with us longer-term, others just for a short time before moving on.
Age range: Women over the age of 18 years.
What we do
Located in a large detached house in Oswaldtwistle, our service is purposely small, just nine en-suite bedrooms. Because we support women with histories of abuse, it is important to us that each individual feels safe from the very first day they arrive at our service. Once our residents feel comfortable we work together on their personal recovery journey.
We use the nationally recognised ‘Recovery Star’ tool to help the people we care for measure their own progress. To make sure our residents receive consistent care and support, we also use a model of care informed by Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), which is recommended by the National Institute for health and Care Excellence (NICE) for women with particular mental health diagnoses who have a history of self-harming and suicidal behaviour.
By believing in better, we help our residents to achieve more every day and to continue to develop and grow.
We want every individual we look after to feel as if they are being supported by a family member and to feel completely at home and at ease in our service.
