Heather Illidge
Referrals Co-ordinator
(Adult Mental Health and Learning Disability Referrals)
‘I always like to think I have helped people and done a good job which makes the job so rewarding’
Heather joined Huntercombe in 2018. Since she started she has managed all our CAMHS and adult mental health referrals. In her spare time she enjoys home DIY and going on long dog walks.

Niki Phillips
Referrals Co-ordinator
(Children and young people referrals)
‘I enjoy being part of such a tight knit team. Our work can be fast past paced but the reward that it brings makes each day worthwhile. Being able to support people get the care they need is something that I feel very strongly about. I work hard in all aspects of my life and find motivation in challenges and learning new things. I just want to help as many people as I can. Outside of work I am an active mum of one who enjoys things like mountain biking, rock climbing and long dog walks.
Niki has worked as part of or referrals Team at Huntercombe since 2017.

Kirsty Melia
Referrals Co-ordinator
(Brain injury and neurological services)
‘No two days are the same which keeps me on my toes and the rewards and satisfaction I receive knowing that I have supported a person to receive the care they need makes the job worthwhile. Although I am not directly involved in the patients’ care, it’s still rewarding to know I played a small part in helping people on their first steps to recovery. I was here when we started the referrals service and the team has always prided itself on providing the best possible service to referrers and commissioners: we know locating a suitable bed isn’t the easiest of tasks so we try to make our process as informative and helpful as possible.’
Kirsty joined our referrals team in 2016.

Helen Russell
Referrals Co-ordinator
‘I quickly found working in CAMHS became a passion of mine and not just a job. Knowing that, in my current role, I am continuing to help young people is very important to me. The role can, at times, be demanding but it is so rewarding when an admission takes place and I know that the person is going to receive the care and support he or she needs.’
Helen joined Huntercombe in November 2013. With a childcare based background, she joined our team at Huntercombe Hospital Stafford where she gained valuable experience working with young people with mental health conditions and eating disorders. She decided to join the referrals team in March 2020.
