From me to you a big thank your for your personal support

From day one I felt that I was an equal partner in my daughter’s process to recovery. I was invited and attended (when possible) all weekly/monthly meetings.  I participated in all the meetings not just a dedicated 10 minute slot for parents (as historically experienced), it was empowering.

Each plan made, whether it was diet or medical, was clear/concise and always had my daughter at the centre of it.  This is an eating disorder hospital that listens to the child/young person and wasn’t driven purely by a medical model.

Huntercombe Hospital appreciated that many parents made long journeys to visit their children and there was always a friendly welcome, warm drink and extended visiting (not curtailed to one hour).  They understood that families do not cause eating disorders and can be a valuable source of support to aid their recovery not a hindrance.

Excellent communication within the team and with myself ensuring that each person knew her care plan, meal plan and thus being able to support my daughter using a consistent approach during times of high anxiety.

My daughter was fully involved in her care planning and decision making, she felt she was listened to in every aspect of her care and whilst she may not agree with those decisions at times – for myself as a parent I felt she was listened to and that made a huge difference in her recovery.

From me to you a big thank you for your personal support, I know that you have gone above and beyond your role supporting my daughter with her diagnosis of coeliacs of which I am truly grateful, both you and Dr Francis will both be missed.
