Dr Amlan Basu

Amlan joined the business in late 2015, and his roles include that of Responsible Officer and Caldicott Guardian. Prior to this appointment, Amlan was Clinical Director of Broadmoor Hospital where he was also a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist.

Having graduated in medicine from University College London, Amlan completed his specialist training in psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital. He held an honorary contract at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King’s College London for over 17 years, publishing a number of research papers in the fields of genetics, psychopharmacology and service development. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and has served on its Forensic Faculty Executive Committee. He has been a member of the Expert Witness Institute for over 8 years and has provided expert evidence in a number of high profile cases.

Amlan is a Non-Executive Director at an NHS Trust and is a Member of the Engagement and Involvement Advisory Board at the THIS Institute (The Health Foundation / University of Cambridge).
